Teaching English as a second language just got a bit more tech savvy and friendly for iUsers. There are some great apps that can run on the iPod, iTouch, and the iPad for ESOL teachers. One of the constant challenges of any teacher, much less a language teacher, is engaging students. While apps don’t guarantee engagement, they definitely open up an avenue that most kids are already comfortable and curious about. One new app that I found is TOEFL Grammar Beginner.
This app is $4.99 and is temporarily able to be downloaded for free. I am sure that this will change, so snag it now and save a few bucks.
TOEFL Grammar Beginner has a few different variations. You can get beginner, midlevel, and advanced version. the levels denote the intensity of the language study. Designed for ESOL students, they could still be extremely useful as English prep for any younger or remedial language learners as well.
The lessons are organized to include 800 multiple choice test questions and sequential lessons.
