Anyone who owns the Dragon software for the computer knows that this software is time consuming to set up and train to work well with your voice and speaking pattern. In addition to being a bit expensive, it is definitely a committment. When I learned of the Dragon Dictationapp for the Apple iDevices I was hesitant to download it. I did not want to invest tons of time getting it ready to operate.
The free application claims to offer users an quick way to dictate information into their phones and send it to their Twitter, Facebook, or simple email. The device relies on voice recognition to prepare text up tp 5 times faster than manually typing words.
When I tried it out, to my suprise, it worked! Sans appropriate punctuation, the application dictated by exact set of words. Requiring a Wi-Fi or, 3G Internet connection, the device operates with the internal microphone standard on the iPhone, iPad, and iTouch.
This was a great way to send instand status updates and respond to Twitter exchanges without typing a single word.
I don’t use stars, but this one would get five starts if I did use stars!!
In fact, this entire post was dictated through Dragon. I emailed it to myself, added punctuation and Viola!
Download Dragon in the app store on your iDevice.
